Tobias Straiphen

Straiphen was a cruel man who believed the only way to rule was with an iron fist. A Ventrue of great age and power he came to Sacramento before the area had truly become a territory for kindred society. Tobias was a long time member of the Invictus and had tirelessly worked his way up the ranks until he controlled the covenant in his own city. He then decided it was time to move on and expand his territory. Leaving his former city in the capable hands of his Seneschal, Tobias chose to travel to Sacramento.

He took a number of loyal kindred with him and soon had control of the small amount of kindred already living in the city. Tobias ruled Sacramento for quite some time, making the city a formidable place of power for the Invictus.

The other covenants were kept small and powerless during his reign as he made a decree that each covenant was only allowed six members before their ranks were full. They would no longer be allowed to recruit more members and anyone in the city who was unaligned was order to either join the Invictus or leave.

Freddrick entered the city a few decades after Tobias took control and being Unaligned himself refused to join the Invictus. He also brought Ishani Naetesh, Brandon Davis, Karsh, Veritas, Icarus, and Lioni Dupree with him. Although not all of these kindred were unaligned as he was, they did not enjoy the way Tobias ruled his city. The small group began to formulate a plan to remove the tyrant Prince but the other covenants put their own plan into motion before they could act.

Carthian Movement, Ordo Dracul, and Lancea Sanctum all worked together to remove Straiphen. Once Tobais was taken out of the game however, the city fell into chaos and the various covenants involved split the territory three ways, each claiming their own Prince as the true ruler of Sacramento.
